The website tourguides.com.jo aims to provide travellers and tour-guides around the globe a platform to interact with each other directly. In order to enable this, the users of the website may have to share some personal information with us. In doing so, we realize that they place a great deal of faith and trust in us, and we in turn would like to assure them that we take their privacy very seriously. In the following sections we will lay out our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”), what kind of data we gather, and what users can do to change, modify or correct that information.

The terms “we”, “us”, “our” and “JTGA” refers to Jordan Tour Guides Association, an association incorporated under the laws of Jordan, and/or our subsidiaries. The term “user” and “you” refers to the customer visiting the website and/or contributing content on this website.

Information Collected by JTGA

JTGA collects personal information from users as part of the registration process. This is information that they voluntarily provide us. Personal information may include e-mail address, passwords, pictures, telephone numbers, address and any other data that users may provide. We may also receive certain personal information from facebook.com in case the user choses to sign-up to our services using their facebook account. We will use this information only for the purpose that it was intended.

We may also automatically collect some information about a user’s computer when he visits JTGA including the IP address, web browser software, content and pages viewed and the referring website. All of this information is collected mainly to understand the interests of our users and customize their user experience. We may make use of the IP address to determine the user’s location to customize content based on location. In some cases, we may use this data to prevent fraudulent activity on the website.

We may also authorize third-party vendors to collect or access information on our behalf, as necessary to operate features of our website, to provide customer service or to customize online advertising. For example, we may tell our advertisers or investors the number of visitors our Web site receives or the geographical distribution of our visitors. Display and Modification of Personal Information

A user has the option of customizing their display name during the registration process or by amending the same by following the appropriate link post login. Guides do not have this option and their full name will always be displayed.

JTGA provides users with the ability to change and modify information previously provided. Users should follow the appropriate link when they log into their account.

In case a user uploads pictures to the image gallery or as part of a review or forum post, then these pictures would be visible to the general public.Therefore, a user should upload only those pictures that they would want to make public.

A significant part of the service on this website depends on the information that travellers provide about the service that they have received from tour guides and other service providers. In case a user or traveller provides personal information about these tour-guides, or any other people, or uploads pictures and so forth of other people, he should ensure that he has their consent to do so. Similarly, in case a tour-guide was to provide any personal information of any traveller, he should do so only after gaining their specific consent. JTGA will not be liable for any of the above content shared in any manner.
You may have the opportunity to provide contact information for other people through our website. You should obtain the consent of other individuals prior to providing JTGA and its users with their personal information.

Messages Sent Through the System

JTGA provides a method for communicating with the tour-guides and with other users on our system. JTGA will not share a user’s email address with any other member nor display it when the user uses the internal messaging system to communicate with other members.

However, as has been mentioned elsewhere, we will display a guide’s email address and other contact information prominently on the website to allow easy direct contact. In case a guide does not want any information to be displayed, he should either not upload that information, or chose the relevant option to hide the information where available.

Users also have the option to send a bulk email to guides through our system via the “Email Many Guides” link. Please note that through this link, a user’s personal email address will also be sent to the tour guides as well, so that they can respond directly to any query. In case a user does not want his contact details to be shared with the tour-guides, he should not make use of this feature on the website.

We may monitor these messages to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of JTGA.

E-mail Subscription

Users will receive an email from JTGA only in case they have explicitly agreed to receive such mail. They can always opt out by clicking on the relevant link provided in the email.

Call Recording and Monitoring

Calls to and from JTGA may be recorded.  We may use the call recordings to monitor our customer service for quality or compliance purposes, or to provide training to our staff.  Any personal information obtained from you during the call will be treated in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

JTGA is a general audience website targeting those people who are planning a trip or a vacation abroad.Our intended audience is not children. Should we discover that a child under the age of 13 has posted personal information, we will delete or destroy such information as soon as reasonably possible.
